Places to See on A Caribbean Honeymoon Vacation
See The Turtles in George Town, Grand Cayman
For the adventurous type out on a Caribbean honeymoon vacation, try snorkeling with the stingrays at Stingray City Sandbar. Stingrays are relatively tame animals that will swim right into your arms to eat offered food from your hands. Their skin is velvety soft and smooth, most of them love to have their bellies rubbed, and despite their fearsome name they tend to be extremely gentle creatures that won't hurt you as long as you stay away from their tails.
If you head into the town itself, then you will find lots to occupy your time during your Caribbean honeymoon vacation. You could visit the Conch Shell House – which is, as it sounds, made entirely out of trumpet shells. Or, you could visit the Turtle Farm – a nursery that breeds and raises sea turtles such as the green turtle, and the hawksbill turtle. On the northern side of the island you can visit the Rum Point Club to enjoy an island-style day out and take in the scenic surroundings. You can also take a flight over the island and enjoy the view from above.
Shopping in Montego Bay, Jamaica
Jamaica boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and you'll be sure to want to spend at least one evening there watching the sun set with your sweetie during your Caribbean honeymoon vacation, and Rose Hall Beach Club is a perfect place to do it. Glittering white sand and nearly translucent waters make the admission fee to this secluded beach seem well worth paying. Beach bars, open-air dance areas, volleyball courts, restaurants, showers and complete water sports programs are among the most obvious things to do during your Caribbean honeymoon vacation here.
The bustling Gloucester Avenue is worth exploring as part of your Caribbean honeymoon vacation – it is full of interesting stores and restaurants, and makes for a great shopping trip. Those interested in golf will enjoy Wyndahm Rose Hall Golf and Beach Resort, which is worth at least one round to see the waterfall on the 15th hole. Stop off for some refreshments in the form of Red Stripe Beer – a favorite of the locals, then go horseback riding along the beach.
Whale Watching in Samana, Dominican Republic
Somewhat removed from the typical tourist trail, the luxuriant peninsula of Samana is a paradise for nature lovers to visit on a Caribbean honeymoon vacation. Not only is it home to one of the most important mangrove reserves and rainforests in the Caribbean, but its crystal-clear coast offers some of the most divine diving found along the northern coast of this island. Being able to see up to 150 feet in some spots affords spectacular views of the reefs and colorful tropical fish darting through the waters around you.
If you happen to be taking your Caribbean honeymoon vacation during the month of January, then you should look for the humpback whales migrating south to the bay for their mating season. There are thousands of whales migrating, and it is usually possible to see up to 300 of them at once as they play, sing, and court each other – it is a truly spectacular view, and one few people have a chance to see. If you get the opportunity, then it would be a wonderful and unique experience to remember your honeymoon by.
