Honeymoons on A Budget
Package holidays are the most popular choice for honeymooners, as they are good value and usually cover travel, accommodation, airport transfers and some or all of your meals. It’s important to note that holiday prices can be misleading and it’s advisable to avoid basing your choice on cost alone. For example, don’t be misled by cheap accommodation-only deals. The bill for food, drink, and any activities offered by your hotel can far outweigh the extra tariff charged by another deal which may include breakfast and discounted meals for the rest of the day.
If you are considering a package holiday, make sure you read the fine print to ensure that you are clear on what is an is not included in the package. Most good packages include extras such as free breakfasts and tours.
Another way to save money is to book your honeymoon during an off peak travel season – this may not fit with your dream of a Summer wedding, however, but if the where is more important than the when, then it is worth considering. You should check what the weather will be like at your destination during less popular travel times, however. There's no point going to your dream Caribbean island during hurricane season!

A honeymoon registry is a great idea - especially if you’re already set up at home, living together, and don’t need a ton of toasters and other household goods. Many couples already ask for cash in other ways, and I think people would much prefer to give for a honeymoon that will be enjoyed, instead of for more boring and mundane things.
When you’re on your honeymoon, tell everyone, everywhere you go - it’s amazing how nice people can be, and the kinds of doors it can open up
