The Secrets Of Planning A Honeymoon Cruise

There are lots of honeymoon cruise packages on offer these days, and it can be difficult to pick out the ones which will be the most romantic and relaxing for your post wedding celebration.  The following tips will hopefully help you plan your honeymoon vacation.

Make sure that the travel agent is aware that the booking is for a honeymoon – quite often cruise lines will offer special gifts for newlyweds.

Decide with your new spouse the general area you would like to visit. When people think of honeymoon cruise vacations, the Caribbean Sea is usually the first image that comes to mind. Most cruises do tend to cater to the sunbather, but there are incredible honeymoon cruises to hundreds of areas around all continents of the world. Consider them all before you leap forward with your plans! Before you book, think about the size of the ship – bigger ships can have up to 3,000 passengers, while a smaller ship will be more private and personal, and is likely to have a better staff to passenger ratio, making them able to offer better service.

That said, a smaller ship may offer a less smooth ride, so is not as suitable for people who suffer from sea sickness.Find out in advance what is included in the price of the cruise, and what is not – even some 'all inclusive' cruises have things that are charged for – on some cruises, for example, soft drinks are free, but you have to pay for cocktails.  Keep in mind any chargeable expenses so that you can budget accordingly.

Carrying cash is risky, so it is common for the company to include a shipboard account which can be used to pay for any expenses you might incur during your voyage. This is much safer than carrying bundles of cash, but do resist the temptation to go "overboard" with your tab!

Consider the dress code for the cruise, and for the countries you will be visiting – if the ship requires formal attire for the captains dinner, remember to pack some.  Think about the weather in the places you will be going, and consider any local customs too.  In general, just pack a range of clothing and you should be OK for any occasion.

A little planning before the cruise will make sure that you can relax and enjoy your honeymoon, and get your new marriage started in the best way possible.

I am getting married in September of next year, and I was thinking of a cruise. Actually, our idea was to take a long cruise, but to have the wedding on the first leg, and try to get a small number of close guests to come along for one stop - we just need to find a company that does the right intinerary at a price that we can afford.

We’d prefer a smaller ship 3,000 people doesn’t indicate good personal service to me - something smaller, where you may get to know a few faces among the other guests, and also the staff, would be much nicer.
