Where Will You Go For Your Honeymoon?

Your honeymoon vacation is one of the most important holidays you will ever take, and there are lots of companies all competing for your attention, and trying to persuade you that their chosen package or destination is the best one.  Only you can decide where you want tho go, but hopefully these tips will help you decide.

When Is The Wedding?

One of the main factors in making the decision is the date of the wedding – many destinations are better at certain times of year – taking an Alaskan cruise in the middle of winter, for example, is at best ill-advised, and you may find that most companies will not even offer such a service at that time of year.
On the other side of the coin, some destinations become very expensive during the peak time of year, and may be out of your price range if you are on a budget.

Look at the kind of honeymoon experience you want, and try to find somewhere that offers that experience at the time of year you will be wanting to travel.

What Are Your Interests?

Making sure you know what you want to do on your honeymoon
destination will certainly make your selection easier. For
example, you like to do water sports on your honeymoon; or you
like have a luxurious pampering: or you want to explore culture
and history; or you want to just relax and enjoy each other's
company. Knowing this will keep you on your aim to get the
honeymoon destination of your choice.

What Is Your Budget?

For many people, price is an important factor – this is understandable when you consider that you also have a wedding and reception to pay for.

Work out what you can afford, and then see what you can get for that budget – make sure that you don't over-stretch the budget – it may be nicer to go to a more simple location, but to travel in style and stay in a nice hotel, than to go coach class, and stay in a cheap hotel, just for the sake of getting to an exotic location.  This is your honeymoon, and you want to have fun.

Once you have an idea of what you want to do, and what you can afford, you should have a nice shortlist of possible destinations – discuss these with your future husband or wife, and decide what works for both of you.  Then above all, have fun!

Many of my friends who are engaged at the moment are planning Caribbean honeymoons and weddings - they have their hearts set on them so much that they are delaying their weddings by several months - a year in one case, to give them time to save up for the perfect wedding and honeymoon.

Personally, I think something more unusual would be much better - you can have sun sea and sand any holiday - but, hopefully, you only get married once!
