Honeymoon Cruises in the Caribbean
Caribbean Honeymoon Cruises come in a couple of flavors – the most well known is to take a cruise on one of the bigger cruise ships, relax, enjoy the luxury of the ship, and just watch the waves roll by as you soak up the Caribbean sun.
The facilities on the bigger liners can be quite impressive – offering everything from pools to rock climbing walls, gyms, spas, and casinos – almost everything you could ever want will be on the ship for you to enjoy. Most ships offer good entertainment for children too, giving those on their second honeymoon a chance to enjoy some together time while the kids have fun.
On some of the most extravagant cruise liners you'll even find LED movie screens where you can watch movies theater style under the stars, several story promenade streets (some with parades and street musicians), golf simulators or even an ice skating rink! Almost all ships will stop to give you time for snorkeling and don't forget a favorite activity during any Caribbean honeymoon cruise: swimming with dolphins!
There are plenty of activities for you when the ship calls in to port as well – you can try snorkelling, hiking, biking along forest trails, or even ride a horse along the spectacular, white, sandy beaches.
A large cruise liner leaves little to be desired – you could spend a week or more just on the ship, let alone time in the ports. Many of the ships offer multiple clubs and lounges, so you can sample the different shows, and different kinds of music – enjoying something different each night.
Eastern Caribbean [honeymoon cruise tours can sail by Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, and St. Thomas, while Western Caribbean honeymoon cruises can include trips by Cozumel Island, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica to name just a few ports of call. Truly it would take more than seven days on any given cruise just to take in all the opportunities for excitement and relaxation.
Charter a Smaller Boat
If you don't fancy the idea of sharing a ship with lots of other people, then perhaps chartering a smaller boat is the option for you. When you charter a boat, you will be the only passengers on board, so you will have personal service, and a much more intimate atmosphere. You can take a one or two week tour of the Grenadines on a chartered vessel, and enjoy the time relaxing with your new spouse.
One interesting bit of trivia about a chartered tour of the Grenadines is that your ship will actually fly two different flags since the Grenadines falls under two different countries - oin Bequia, Canouan, Mayereau, Mustique, Petit St Vincent and Union you will see the St. Vincent flag flying overhead, while the Grenada flag is required at Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Thankfully, the crew will be the ones who have to worry about this – you can just relax and let them look after you while you are on your honeymoon!
