Honeymoon Planning: The Cheap and Stress-Free Way

Careful honeymoon planning equates to a romantic, relaxing and memorable vacation. You have to be completely prepared to ensure that all goes well in this once-in-a-lifetime occasion. Having a perfect honeymoon does not have to be expensive or stressful. There are so many ways how you can have the vacation you and your partner have always dreamed of. With a little creativity and resourcefulness, you can pull off your fantasy honeymoon on a budget.

Set the Budget

You and your partner should start by setting the budget for your honeymoon trip. When doing this, keep in mind all the necessities like accommodations, food and activities you’d like to do. Also include a contingency fund for spontaneous spending on items, additional services and activities. Stick to a budget within or below your means.

Once you both have finalized a budget, make sure that it is realistic enough that you can stick to it throughout the course of the vacation. It is better to prepare your budget in the form of cash so you can observe how your money is being spent. Bring only one credit card for the two of you which should solely be used for emergency purposes.

What fits in your budget?

The budget you’ve come up with will help you decide which places and activities you can afford. Initially, honeymoon planning includes how long you intend to stay on vacation. The longer your stay, the more expensive it will be. You may notice that staying in a five-star hotel for one night costs almost the same as spending five nights in a modest cottage by the beach.

Next, decide where you want to spend your honeymoon. Your budget will also indicate if you can afford going to another country or taking a vacation in nearby states. There are cheaper alternatives like going to Florida instead of flying to the Pacific. Saving on transportation will provide you extra to spend on quality accommodations. If you plan to go on a cruise, lesser-destination packages are available which cost significantly less.

Finally, plan what you want to do. Choose a resort that provides you the luxury and quality services you’re looking for. Compare three resorts at least before booking. Honeymoon activities also vary in prices depending on equipment used. Honeymoon packages are very popular since these offer great accommodations plus all events and activities that couples want to indulge in at a fixed price.
