Watch Out on That All Inclusive Honeymoon!

Most newlyweds love the thought of dashing off to their all inclusive honeymoon where they can relax, unwind with a massage, order a few drinks, and enjoy being waited on hand and food.  They imagine stretching out on the beach of that first-class resort or on the deck of their cruise liner, taking advantage of butler service and room service at any time of the day or night. After all, they may as well take advantage of their all inclusive honeymoon, right?

Before you sign on the dotted line when it comes to that resort or cruise, there are some cautions you need to consider about a so-called all inclusive honeymoon.

For one thing, an all inclusive honeymoon really doesn't mean that you're provided anything you want at any time.  All such packages have limits on the things that are provided, and usually exclude such things as alcoholic drinks, massages and other spa services, sessions with a personal trainer, and things such as this.

There may also be some restrictions on when you can call for items from the kitchen and schedule other services from the spa and such.  Remember, an all inclusive honeymoon isn't truly all inclusive, otherwise customers would be expecting souvenirs for free, would be drinking all hours of the day and night, and would be overloading the schedule of the masseuse.

When you’re shopping for your all inclusive honeymoon, read the fine print.  You should find that any restrictions on what’s included are clearly laid out for you, so you shouldn’t be taken by surprise.  Once you know what you can and can’t have on the ‘all inclusive’ list, you can draw up a budget for those added extras, and you’ll know what is OK to take advantage of without running up a nasty tab.

Keep in mind that the term all inclusive honeymoon is really just a marketing ploy – you get all the basics, but don’t go wild! It’s easy to wonder why, if an all inclusive honeymoon isn't really all inclusive, people are so eager to go on these ‘not-quite-all-inclusive’ holidays?

Well, you have to remember that it’s still a good holiday – the resorts are top notch, and you don’t have to worry about the basics like your main meals, and non-alcoholic drinks.  There’s usually some entertainment included in the price too.  So, you can just enjoy those things without worrying about the price.

Often, there are some room service options included in the all-inclusive price too, so if you don’t want to spend a fortune while you’re away, you can still enjoy some of the benefits of the resort.  The rest of the options, you do have to pay for, but this doesn’t have to be a bad thing.

Not everyone drinks lots of alcohol, or goes scuba diving – so why pay extra to have the option to do those things if you don’t plan on using them? You can still take advantage of the entertainment and excursion options if you want to, and they aren’t usually very expensive either, so an all-inclusive honeymoon is still a great deal for most couples.
