Shorter cruises are less expensive. Choosing a cruise that sails
at a port near you would further cut the cost of the honeymoon,
and making sure that you search for several cruises and
comparing the prices would give you better savings.

I got married 4 years ago, and we were students at the time so we couldn’t afford a proper honeymoon.
We made our honeymoon a late one - a trip to LA earlier this year. It was everything we could have hoped for, even if it was late.
There are some great deals to be had online - especially if you are open minded and flexible. I would recommend avoiding peak seasons, and keeping an eye on the best deals each day.
I agree that looking at alternative methods of travel can work - but I wouldn’t skimp too much - a cramped flight with too little legroom, poor food and stroppy staff isn’t exactly the greatest start to a honeymoon.
